Our production, as a consequence of not understanding or not seeing the importance our ecosystems and their resources play for us human beings, has been degenerative and linear with resources taken, chewed and spit out. The result is that we are now balancing on the edge of chaos.
For the sake of our survival the production should be regenerative, meaning that it should be integrated with the ecosystems and their cycles around us and give back, restore, what we take, to be generous with nature.
This implies accepting the limits of the regenerative capacity of the ecosystems and prohibiting the use of materials and substances that our mother nature or we cannot digest, DDT for example (The Story of Silent Spring | NRDC).
Maybe economy will slowdown when learning to walk with the biosphere instead of sprinting for disaster but in return life will probably be better on a more habitable planet!
