Curb goal damaging commercials
A society chooses the balance between promoting intrinsic values that are inherently satisfying to pursue and promotes well-being or it can promote extrinsic values that are related to creating a Frankenstein monster.
A society chooses if it wants to promote growth as a goal or protecting the life-supporting biopshere. Currently our society is structured around growth and governments and companies dance together in a whirlwind of stimulus packages and advertising to keep economies growing and its wheels turning.
We have however reached a point where growing without limit no longer is an alternative. A restructuring of our society for intrinsic values and for our environment is needed.
In certain countries there are laws protecting children from damaging commercials and a step in the direction of promoting well-being within limits is to raise the age of these laws and protect us from commercials that make us feel bad and give us the appetite for destruction of our planet.
